Toowoomba Anglican School warmly recognises Mr Chris Johnson, Class of 1965, for more than 21 years of loyal and active service to the Toowoomba Anglican School Association (TASA Alumni).
Chris has been a dutiful and hands-on supporter of the Association, generously contributing his time, knowledge and energy for more than two decades. Among his many contributions, he has played an important role in maintaining the past-student display boards in the Bell Tower, helping to preserve and share the stories of those who have gone before us.
Chris often speaks fondly of his years at “Prep” and the influence they had upon his life and character. He recalls an era when boxing formed part of School life, describing it, with a characteristic twinkle, as a valuable lesson in knowing when to open your mouth and when it might be wiser to keep it closed! While such an approach may not find its way into today’s curriculum, it remains part of the rich and colourful history of School life in the early 1960s.
Having celebrated his 74th birthday this year, Chris remains deeply committed to TAS and its alumni community. He is also clear that the time has come for younger generations of past students to step forward, become involved and help carry the Association’s work into the future.
We thank Chris for his friendship, loyalty and more than two decades of dedicated service. His contribution reflects the enduring connection between our past students and the School that helped shape them.
